One of my favorite authors lately is N. D. Wilson. His latest is Notes From The Tilt-A-Whirl. I'm only part way through it, but it is quite good thus far.
The whole family liked his Leepike Ridge. I enjoyed 100 Cupboards, but the kids thought it was getting bit creepy toward the late middle part of the book (and it was a bit creepy, but in a really good book kind of way). I haven't gotten around to reading the second book in the 100 Cupboards series, Dandelion Fire, yet, but should make it to it before the end of the year. We even like his retellings of Bible stories (The Dragon and the Garden and In the Time of Noah)
